Quinoa is a protein-packed alternative to oatmeal.
This simple breakfast cereal will keep you satisfied for hours while also delivering a punch of cinnamon benefits and flavor.
Ingredients
- 1/3 c. quinoa
- 1/3 c. unsweetened apple juice
- 1/3 c. water
- 1 small Granny Smith apple, cored, peeled, and chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon agave nectar (optional)
Directions:
- Put the quinoa, apple juice, and water in a pan. Bring to a boil.
- Add the Ceylon cinnamon and stir. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the chopped apple, stir to combine, and allow to simmer for another 10 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the quinoa and apple are tender.
- Serve with an additional sprinkle of cinnamon.
